AST provides competitive advantages for its client owning auto dealerships using innovative training techniques, operational reviews, consulting projects, and internet-based systems that provide information-sharing and cross-selling opportunities with other automobile dealerships.

Our Mission

Our mission is to develop new ways to enhance the sales and bottom line of auto dealerships and RV dealerships without disrupting the business model we know and appreciate.

Company Profile

Systems: Through our innovative internet-based Used Vehicle Group Systems we provide opportunities for dealership groups to share used vehicle inventory with other dealers thereby creating used vehicle trading groups. This unique approach assists dealers by providing outlets for trade-in vehicles that may work better for other dealers in a group than the trading dealer.  In addition, common ownership groups are provided with management information to analyze each dealership's compliance with company policy.

Groups that are not commonly owned are restricted to no more than one of each franchise. These groups include geographic, market segment, high volume groups, and same make locator groups.

Training: We provide individualized salesperson, closer and desk manager training through the use of audio and video recording. Utilizing multiple video cameras and wireless microphones we give the dealer a clear picture of how his team performs on any particular day.  We call this "Eye On Sales"

We provide in house training programs for senior managers of auto dealerships to improve innovation and problem solving skills. We accomplish this by improving the understanding of all concerned as to the important departmental functions and the impact they have on the financial statement.

We provide classroom instruction in automobile dealerships in both Southern California and Southern Nevada. Classes taught include: Automotive Financial Analysis for Automotive Executives, Automotive Accounting (for business office personnel), and Automotive Business Management and Controllership.

Management Review: A unique one day program for the average size dealership. Our automotive professionals inquire about and evaluate operating procedures in all departments of the dealership. The areas of inquiry have been carefully developed to uncover profit opportunities and areas of unacceptable risk.

History: Founded in 1999 by John Donnelly the firm initially presented class room instruction in Las Vegas area for the employees of auto dealerships. This was followed by the development of the audio-video sales transaction training program "Eye on Sales" in 2000. It has been improving salesperson performance ever since. With the development of Used Vehicle Group Systems in 2006, the company has ventured into unique information systems to develop competitive advantage for its clients.

John Donnelly started in the retail automobile industry as a CPA in Los Angeles in 1980 becoming the partner in charge of the consulting division of the regional CPA firm Borbely and Donnelly Accountancy Corporation.  Mr. Donnelly has managed and owned automobile dealerships as a General Manager, CFO, Controller, Used Car Manager and Dealer since leaving the CPA firm in 1985.
